A few days ago our students met a once-in-a-generation athlete.
Summer McIntosh was Canada’s youngest Olympian, representing her country at the Tokyo Olympic Games at just 14 years old.
A
t 17, she captured the world’s attention — and the hearts of a nation — by winning 3 Gold Medals and 1 Silver Medal at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, establishing herself as one of the greatest athletes Canada has ever produced.
Just months later, she continued her historic rise by setting 3 World Records and winning 3 Gold Medals and 1 Silver Medal at the 2024 World Aquatics Swimming Championships (25m) in Budapest.
A rare athlete who threatens world records every time she enters the pool, Summer joined 1.25 million students from classrooms across the U.S., Canada, and around the world for a youth-led conversation about excellence, commitment, and belief.
